Prom...one of the most important evenings of high school. This year was my first taste of prom, other than helping plan. Bloomfield Hills High School Prom was held at the gorgeous venue of the Roostertail in Detroit. Not only was the Roostertail great as a space, but it also was a great location, far enough away from the Bloomfield bubble, yet fun to be near the heart of downtown Detroit. Prom was definitely one of, if not the most exciting school sponsored event I have ever been to. No other dance compares to prom and I hope that next year, the incoming senior class will make that known to their fellow peers. I know this year we didn't have the whole senior class attending, and although it is impossible to get everyone to come, due to conflicts, I do believe that a reason why people didn't go was because on paper its just "another high school dance"; when in reality, prom is in a league of its own. I really hope that everyone who attended Prom had as good of a time as my friends and I did because I know how much work the Class of 2016 Student Council put into making the night a success. Aside from having no issues this year for staff and administration, we had a strolling dinner with many options like a stir fry station and a pasta station, which was a hit. After dinner was desserts on desserts on desserts. We even had a waffle making station where cereal was put into the batter, let me tell you: that's a real game changer. Dancing was also a highlight of the night, as I know the we had given the DJ a set list of songs so we all knew that we could get down to whatever was playing. Overall Prom night was better than expected, it truly was an Enchanted Evening

Powderpuff is fast approaching and I am very excited to coach again this year. With Nick Lucci, Jeff Ross, Michael Almany, as well as other seniors, we plan to bring the senior girls to victory. I had a great time coaching my sophomore year, when we beat the freshmen (Class of 2017) and its the rematch we've been waiting for. I hope the senior girls can bring home the gold once again. This is their last time to bring honor to the Class of 2016. We have multiple practices set up where we will go over plays and defensive sets. (Watch out juniors) Overall, I'm really pumped for this Powderpuff game, i hope we get a lot of support!
With the year coming to a close, after prom one of the last events to be had is Powderpuff. Powderpuff is when the senior and junior football boys coach the junior and senior girls in a competitive and fun game of flag football. Each year this event brings many girls to play and many spectators to cheer on their grade. The date for the game is set for May 24th during advisory. Having the game during advisory is a new decision this year, and it is one that I am excited about. Advisory is the perfect time for all grades to get outside and watch the girls take on flag football. I personally am very excited for the game as it is my last time to play and a final hoorah for my senior year. I'm excited to play and excited to get to experience it with both my senior and junior friends. I hope we get a lot of students and staff to attend!!
